ENT / ORIGINAL CORE PACK Exam learning only. This is not a diagnostic, procedural or patient-specific care guide.

ENT · NOTES + ACTIVE RECALL

Three regions.
One reasoning loop.

Use this original pack to organise a topic before returning to your chosen approved source. It teaches a revision structure, not a clinical pathway.

01 · OTOLOGY

Build from function.

Start with the role of the structure, then decide what a history, examination or investigation can actually answer.

REVISION LOOP

Region → function → signal

Locate the relevant ear or balance structure; state the sensory or mechanical function; then identify the kind of signal, test or finding your source is discussing. Keep the context and limitation beside the claim.

RECALL

Ask before you list

What is the structure? What function is being tested or discussed? What does the chosen source establish—and what remains outside its scope?

Check your thinking

A useful answer links anatomy and function, names the setting and source version, and does not turn an exam note into an individual assessment or treatment plan.

02 · RHINOLOGY

Keep the airway context.

Use structure and function to keep a list of labels connected to the question being asked.

REVISION LOOP

Region → function → context

Identify the nasal or paranasal region, connect it to its relevant function, then hold the symptom pattern, time course and care setting visible. A fact without its source setting is only half a revision point.

RECALL

Make a four-line note

Write one line each for structure, function, the question your source addresses, and its boundary.

Check your thinking

The boundary should state the publisher or source type, date or edition, intended setting, and the clinical or management claims the note does not make.

03 · LARYNGOLOGY

Keep voice, swallow and airway distinct.

Separate the function under revision before trying to memorise an entire region at once.

REVISION LOOP

Function → time course → boundary

Choose the relevant function, connect it to the anatomy or physiology you are revising, then note the time-course and setting described by the source. Preserve uncertainty instead of filling it with unsupported certainty.

RECALL

Name the safe next source

When your revision note reaches its boundary, where should detailed current claims be checked?

Check your thinking

Return to the approved current teaching resource, professional guidance or local protocol appropriate to the setting, and to qualified supervision for real clinical decisions.

FINISH THE LOOP

One note. Three retrieval prompts.

Choose one ENT topic from your approved source. Make a four-line note, answer the relevant recall prompt without looking, then amend your note with its source and version.
