MEDICINE / GASTROENTEROLOGY · REVIEWED SOURCE MAP

Liver guidance.
Disease, document, date.

Clinical boundary: This is revision material, not individual diagnosis or management advice. Liver assessment needs clinical history, examination, investigations and locally applicable care.

What to learn

A single “liver guideline” does not answer every liver question. AASLD publishes disease-specific guidance across acute liver failure, hepatitis, cirrhosis-related complications, liver cancer and more.

Anchor 1 — match disease to document. First identify the condition and clinical question before choosing a source.

Anchor 2 — check currency. A guidance document’s publication or update date is part of the answer.

Anchor 3 — link, do not copy. The lawful revision path is a short original note plus a link to the source, not reposting protected guidance.

Active recall

What comes before quoting a liver recommendation?

Match the disease, population and clinical question to the correct guidance document.

Why does the source date matter?

Guidance can be updated as evidence and clinical practice change.
