PHYSIOLOGY / MODULE 02 Original exam-learning note. Not patient-specific interpretation.

EXCITABLE TISSUE

Start the signal.
Trace the response.

Use this framework to understand membrane behaviour and propagation before adding detailed channel facts, values and diagrams from lawful approved sources.

STEP 01

Set the baseline

Define the resting state, relevant gradient and membrane property. A change makes sense only against its starting condition.

STEP 02

Cross the threshold

Connect stimulus, threshold behaviour and the initiating membrane event. State the model’s assumptions rather than treating a threshold as universal.

STEP 03

Follow propagation

Trace how local change becomes a travelling signal and which structural features alter its speed or reliability.

STEP 04

Explain recovery

Connect restoration, refractoriness and readiness for the next signal. Time is central to both the curve and function.

RECALL CHECK

Can you explain the sequence?

Try the original check, then add detailed source-backed channel and waveform facts in your own notes.
